Harris County Beekeepers Association maintains
a listing of all beekeeping associations in Texas. This
is the best place to search for a local beekeeper for educational
presentations, swarm collecting, or for help in getting

Butterflies and butterfly gardening:
Home
for the Dallas Lepidopterists Society, an active
group that sponsors field trips, a newsletter and regular
meetings to talk all things butterfly. More than collectors,
these folks raise butterflies, plant butterfly gardens and
mentor budding butterfly photographers. The
Monarch Watch site, sponsored by the University
of Kansas, has loads of information about butterflies and
butterfly gardening. Dedicated to education, conservation
and research about butterflies.

turf, and garden.

Products. Website primarily designed for distributors,

State University entomology web site has one
of the most comprehensive listing of entomology links. If

Government sites:
The
US Environmental Protection Agency maintains
much pesticide related news and information, including archives

Texas Structural Pest Control Board is the state agency
responsible for licensing professional pest control operators.
Lists laws and regulations that govern household and commercial
pesticide applications. This is the agency to contact if
you have a consumer complaint or question about pest control
services. Texas
Department of Agriculture's pesticide programs
home page provides information on pesticide registration,
continuing education programs for pesticide applicators
and more. This agency regulates most pesticide applications
made to parks, roadsides and golf courses. This is the main
site to go to learn about how pesticides are regulated in
Texas.
Household insect management:
Center for Urban and Structural Entomology
at Texas A&M University has information on ants, termites,
cockroaches and other general pests. The termite section
is especially useful. Information is also provided on how
to submit insects to the Center for identification. Everything
you've ever wanted to know about fire ants and more is available

on the Formosan termite. Definitive information on this

a wealth of information about growing plants in Texas. One

information anyway on West Nile virus and other insect-borne

scene investigators of the insect world meet
here. Learn how entomologists are involved in helping solve
legal disputes and real-life crime. A listing of certified
forensic entomologists can help you find an expert in this

Organizations:
The
Entomological Society of America is the largest
organization of entomologists in the world. This site contains
a wide range of insect information ranging from articles

association of pest management professionals in the U.S.
